DESCRIPTION

The Silvio Cocco’s Graphic Studio Interior Design is set within the unique context of Borgo Dora, inside the courtyard building of the Cortile del Maglio. This space is distinguished by a large semi-covered square that once served as a Military Arsenal. In this creative hub, numerous activities related to the world of graphics and art have found their place. Silvio Cocco tirelessly produces books, paintings, and sculptures, and these objects need to exist in an environment that does not overshadow their creative identity. Hence, the idea of a lightweight, skeletal, almost invisible structure was born. This design creates a unique visual permeability, allowing the architecture to maintain its own identity while keeping the creative production as the true focal point. A third level, made through the assembly of industrial metal grids, is added to the existing two floors, shaped through a playful interplay of voids and solids, generating multiple views to the spaces below. From the studio at the upper level, the entire space is overseen with humility. The eccentricity of the setting reaches its peak with the inclusion of a nine-meter-high firefighter pole, providing the fastest (and most adrenaline-fueled) access to the entrance. A truly original way to welcome new potential clients.
